Cardboard Furniture

I thought since I haven't any bedroom furniture I would make some, until I decide on the furniture that I want.  Until then I've created a bed and a dresser out of cardboard....of course I will be sprucing these up a a bit.
I made this out of match boxes and cardboard and match sticks to cover up the ends.
I made this out of an upside down large match box, small dowels for the post and cardboard cut outs for the head and foot boards.
Here is a picture of them both.  The lighting is better in this picture.  Well, wish me luck in trying to make these two pieces look presentable.

  1. Kim, they look really sweet! I really like the shape of your bed's head and foot boards! I still have packed away a few of the cardboard matchbox pieces I made for my dollhouse when I was young! I love tiny matchboxes for that very reason! I look forward to seeing what you do to make them "presentable"! :)

  2. They look great! I made a chest of drawers with matchboxes before! I'm buying some more matchboxes tomorrow!
Thanks so much for the inspiration!

  3. Hi Kim - thought I'd post and let you know I replied to your email both times - just in case you still aren't getting them. I shipped your pink prize yesterday (Monday). Enjoy!

  5. Looks so sweet kim, and yes the shape is also good, Cardboard furniture is furniture that is designed cardboard or heavy types of wood-based paper. Although people lived and some cardboard as long as it existed, was probably the first draft presented to the world by Frank Gehry.

  7. That is so neat! Now make me a bathtub for my Magnolia Pearl trailer. LOL! Maybe it would be hard. I'm looking for one everywhere. I have to find the perfect one. I thought about making my own with clay or something but I might be pushing it a little. Have fun painting your furniture!
