The Ugly Truth

OMG!!  This is horrible! But it is for real my friends.  I have really, really neglected my yard all winter.  It's not a very big back yard, lots of pasture though.  You would think that I could keep it up, the Ugly Truth is that I haven't.  I haven't even sat back there since the fall and it turned a little cold.  I'm not a winter person at all.  I am a summer girl, I love warm weather.  It really does not get that cold where I live.  My poor back yard.  I need to give it the attention it deserves.

I placed my beautiful climbing rose by the fence, the donkey must have love it, yup, thorns and all, this is all that I have left of it!  Bad Donkey!!

Oh well, I have a lot of work cut out for me, but I am showing you the ugly truth of my life!!

Wishing everyone a wonderful week!

  1. Don't feel TOO bad! The Winter is for resting...plants do too! Your yard will look MIRACULOUSLY better when the grass turns green and the leaves come out! Nothing to feel guilty about at THIS time of year! (But it is the perfect time of year for making PLANS for the upcoming growing season!

  2. I am feeling overwhelmed by my gardens too! I need to spend some major time in them. Won't it be fun to show our pretty gardens in our blogs soon though? They will be worth all the work.

  3. Hi: I had trouble this fall and winter keeping up with my yard. I have very slowly started up again. I guess it happens to all of us. Blessings, Martha

  4. I can't even post a picture of my yard LOL. It will look loads better when things green up, you will have it in shape in no time.

  5. Spring is on it's way...the plants are resting and when they wake up, it'll look a lot better! Time will take care of it!

  6. Oh this is great! I love it when someone posts REAL pictures instead of photoshopped magazine style pictures. I just started some clean up in my little garden space and it is amazing what collected over the winter. I love the green plant stand thingy in your flower bed. Is it described in one of your posts?

PS. It would be sooo much easier to leave you a comment if you would pretty please turn off bloggers word verification, especially now that we have to type in TWO squiggly word things.

  7. everyone neglects their backyard when the weather turns cold. It will be gorgeous in no time! :) chris

  8. Mine, too, Kim ~ it is pitiful! I'll get back to it soon, though~ Love your blog; I'm a new follower! ♥

Thank you for visiting!
